Russian adoption ban concerns South Dakota couples

Late last month Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the Dima Yakovlev Bill which will prohibit Americans from adopting Russian children. That doesn’t sit well with several area families all of whom have adopted Russian children.

Faulkton superintendent addresses guns in schools

Joel Price recently gave his monthly Superintendent’s report to the Faulkton School Board.

He reported on a measure currently being considered in the legislature that would allow teachers and staff to be armed. The bill hasn’t been to any committee yet and is still being drafted, but it is the result of the recent school shootings.

Faulkton building permits top $1.5 million in 2012

Four new homes were either completed or construction was started in Faulkton this past year according to the building permits issued by the City of Faulkton. Those structures accounted for much of the $1,594,550 in estimated new construction in the city in 2012.
