Local destinations along North/South routes to the RuralX Summit

The 2017 RuralX Summit is fast approaching and if you plan to attend, it’s possible that you will pass through a few communities along the way to Aberdeen. Why not make the most of your time and see what these towns have to offer? Whether you’re traveling north or south, we’ve highlighted the best locations to engage in some local fun!

Traveling from the North?

Make a pit stop in Ellendale, ND at the Harvest Gardens. This is an outstanding center to purchase flowers and vegetables, perennials, and magnificent hanging baskets. Their new building features charming decorations for both indoors and out.

Make a quick trip to the Community Store in Frederick. This local store provides the community with a convenient location to purchase a variety of grocery items. If you’re craving a quick snack or a thirst quenching beverage, this is your last chance before reaching Aberdeen.

Traveling from the South?

Visit Frameworks Plus while going through Miller. This local business specializes in custom matting and framing. However, you may want to take time to view this distinctive fine art gallery.

Tulare will give you a chance to subdue your road trip hunger pains. Auntie Mimi’s Farmhouse Kitchen offers fantastic service and even better food! You’ll feel right at home in this cozy diner environment.

Don’t forget to stop in Redfield, where there are a few places worth a detour, such as the Chicago & Northwestern Historic Railroad Depot Museum & Visitor Center which was built in 1914 to resemble the original C&NW Depot in Chicago, IL. Take the time to enjoy railroad memorabilia, model trains, engines and artifacts that illustrate the history of railroads. Afterwards you can enjoy a great meal at either Roosters or Leo’s Good Food. Both restaurants provide excellent customer service and unique varieties of classic American cuisine.
